A girl, being eight months’ pregnant is to become the youngest mother in Britain. She became pregnant at 11 and she will be 12 years and 8 months old when she has the child, while the youngest mother in Britain until now, was 12 years and 9 months old when she gave birth. On a drunken night, the girl conceived when she lost her virginity to a 15-year-old, who has been charged with rape afterwards.
This mother-to-be says she feels uncomfortable to bathe a child and she is frightened when babies are feeling sick. However, she claims she is prepared for being a mother, since she has looked after her younger brothers. She knows how to feed a baby and how to change diapers. She is excited and looks forward to taking walks with her newborn. Her mother is proud of her and is there to help her daughter.
Three test by a general practitioner, showed negative pregnancy results. The girl found out the truth of being pregnant by buying a home-testing kit. After breaking the news to her mother, they had a huge argument. Further on, the pregnancy brought them closer to each other, and the young girl got full support by her mother in keeping the baby, although social workers suggested abortion as a possible option.
The girl started smoking at nine and started drinking cocktails at ten. Nowadays, she smokes 20 cigarettes a day, claiming this habit is not harming her baby.
Her mother will look after her grandchild when the girl returns to school. At the moment, the girl, who hopes to have a baby boy, is not sure what she wants to do with her life.
